Beach Trip Essentials: 10 Things That Should Be In Your Suitcase

Spring Break is just around the corner, and R and I are headed down to the gulf with some friends this weekend to soak up the almost-summer sun. While I was packing, I thought it might be fun to share what types of pieces come with me on any beach trip. Maybe you’re heading somewhere sunny for spring break or there’s a tropical summer vacation in your future. If that’s the case, I hope this helps you make your packing list so you can relax and enjoy your vacation in style! If there’s something you need to stock up on, don’t fret! I’ve linked my favorites in each section so you can easily shop them.

1. Swimsuit

This is a no brainer. I usually pack a few different kinds of suits depending on what our trip is going to be like. If we’re going to be busy and running around, I like to wear a one-piece just because I don’t have to fuss with it. If we’re lounging on the beach, I’ll opt for a two-piece so I can get a more even tan. I Ultimately, it depends on what you feel most confident in. Below are a few options I’ve found. Click on any of them to shop!

2. Coverups

Looking good on your way to and from the beach is just as important as when you’re actually there, right? I’m a sucker for a cute cover up, so if you’re in the market for a new one, check these out!

3. Sundresses

A sun dress is the easiest thing to throw on after a day lounging on the beach. You can wear them casually with sandals during the day or dress them up with wedges for an evening look! I always end up tossing several in my suitcase because it’s the most simple and versatile outfit to put together. Below are several options I’ve had my eye on.

4. Denim Cut-Offs

These are a summer staple. Once I find a pair I like, I usually end up with 3-4 of them until I wear them to death. They can be worn with tees, tank tops, and over a swimsuit. You simply can’t go wrong with a good pair of denim cut-offs. I’m personally not a fan of too much distressing, but I linked a few pairs with distressing anyway that have great reviews just in case you’re interested.

5. Sandals

I keep at least a tan, black, and white pair in rotation at all times. Throw them on with jeans, cut offs, or sun dresses for any casual look. Since I wear them so often, I don’t mind spending a bit more on these. However, I’ve linked options for all price points for you to check out!

6. Tank Tops and Tees

Sun’s out, guns out right?? I love a nice, flattering tank top or tee. They are easy to pair with cutoffs and sandals, and at night you can throw on a cozy cardigan to keep you warm! They’re a solid basic to keep on rotation whether you’re headed to the beach or not. Check out my favorites below!

7. Sunscreen

Fun fact: your skin is the largest organ in your body. (Yeah, ORGAN. Crazy, huh?) Doesn’t that motivate you to protect it?? Don’t forget to grab some SPF, drink tons of water, and be kind to that pretty skin you’re in! I’ve linked my favorite sunscreen, chapstick, and foundation that has SPF built right in!

8. Sunglasses

While we’re on the subject of protection… (These are all less than $20!)

9. Beach Towel

Stay dry and keep the sand off your bum! This is something I always forget to pack for some reason, but the ones I have linked are too cute to get left behind!

10. Beach Bag

Keep it all together (literally) with one of these handy dandy totes. I always try to find one big enough to pack all of my gear PLUS a packed lunch so don’t have to leave the beach!

Do you have everything on the list?? I hope this helps you check everything off your packing list! I cannot wait to hit the road. Do you have any fun travels coming up?? Tell me in the comments below!!

Cheers,

Laura

    Hi,
This is an excellent post you share here. All your suggestion related to beach essentials are awesome. Just One thing I want to mention here, that you can take a beach blanket with you, so that you can spread it on the beach side and can spend some time. Thank you for sharing this post. Keep sharing new posts with us.

Hi! A beach blanket is a great idea! Actually, a lot of the “beach towels” in this post work great for laying out on the beach. Especially the pretty round ones! Thanks for reading!!
